Nutrition & Health

Here at Cheeky Monkeys Nursery we believe in the health and well being of the children. By following the guidelines set by NHS Scotland we make all meals from scratch using a wide range of ingredients.

We believe that the importance of a nutritious diet is key to the overall well being for all our children. Setting them up for a busy day!

For those with early starts we can also offer a breakfast club so you don’t have to worry.

At Cheeky Monkeys Nursery we follow the NHS Guidelines called “Setting the table”  All the information on this can be found here.

Learning through cooking

With in our learning environment we also plan and run various cooking tasks so the children can learn about ingredients, cooking and all safety aspects that are presented through the various tasks.

If there are any recipes that you think the children would like cooking then please let us know.

We love the idea of children tasting new flavours and exploring their taste buds. (*We are always aware of dietary requirements and so work to each individual child’s needs)

Cheeky Monkeys also features through out the Care Inspectorate’s “Food Matters” document which can be read here
